Heading home from Nicaragua.
March 5, 2006: These photos were taken on Friday,
March 3rd, as I was departing the Managua airport. A second cargo plane sits behind
an armed military helicopter. There is a Russian-built single-engine cabin biplane
visible inside the red and white hangar.
Here is one last shot before departure from Managua.
This picture shows the mainland and the barrier islands along the Mississippi
Gulf Coast after 2.5 hours of flying, a meal, and movie. I processed this photo to
alter its contrast, etc. Other photos I took as we flew across the mouth of the
Mississippi River were not suitable for publishing no matter how much I tried with my
photo processing program. There was very little contrast to the photos taken from
37,000 feet.
Here is a photo of the same area with NO processing of contrast, brightness,
etc.
My Delta flight arrived around 6:25 PM in Atlanta. By the time I cleared immigration and customs, I was out on the street around 7:30 to catch the 8 o'clock shuttle van to Chattanooga. I got home just after 10 PM Friday and called it a night around 12:30 AM after watching a little bit of television and unpacking my bag. I did not set up my computer until just before bedtime on Saturday night to download two-days of email. Saturday was a day of catching up on mail and errands that kept me busy all day. It is Sunday morning as I finish publishing these new pages and photos.
