Wendell's Aeronca Champ Heading to Amarillo - - Page 4.
May 7, 2013: The land in the western part of
Tennessee is flat as you approach the Mississippi River even though is it still many miles
ahead on today's flight path. Wendell took this photo at 12:25 Eastern Time, about
12 minutes before the landing at Covington Municipal Airport (M04).
Here is more evidence of the recent rains in this area.
Flat land makes good farm land. This is the first week of May, so the
crops are not up yet if indeed they are already planted.
On final approach to Covington,
Tennessee Airport (M04) at 12:37 PM Eastern Time.
Terry took this photo on the ramp at 12:46 PM Eastern Time.
Wendell took this photo on the ramp after they moved the airplane to a place
where they could leave it before getting some lunch.
Here is the sign for the airport to prove where they stopped. This
airport is well north of the Memphis Class B airspace, out in the country.
That sign is visible on the FBO building as they taxi out to runway 19 for
takeoff at 2:10 PM Eastern Time.
Two minutes later after the engine run-up test, they are ready to depart after
the AG Wagon crop duster on the runway.
