Wendell's Aeronca Champ Heading to Amarillo - - Page 4.

May 7, 2013:  The land in the western part of Tennessee is flat as you approach the Mississippi River even though is it still many miles ahead on today's flight path.  Wendell took this photo at 12:25 Eastern Time, about 12 minutes before the landing at Covington Municipal Airport (M04).

Flat land makes good farm land.  This is the first week of May, so the crops are not up yet if indeed they are already planted.

Here is the sign for the airport to prove where they stopped.  This airport is well north of the Memphis Class B airspace, out in the country.

That sign is visible on the FBO building as they taxi out to runway 19 for takeoff at 2:10 PM Eastern Time.

Two minutes later after the engine run-up test, they are ready to depart after the AG Wagon crop duster on the runway.
