"Lazy B" Ranch Airport · · PAGE 4.
April 5, 2009: We heard an airplane getting ready
for takeoff on runway 23. I walked out of the hangar and got this shot of this
Cessna 180 on the takeoff roll in the concrete portion of the runway.
Inside the last hangar at the southeastern end of the field, we find some
interesting airplanes. Where are the scarf, googles, and leather helmet?
This is the front end of a Rotax-powered Tiger Cub experimental airplane.
The prop is on a gear reduction drive.
The reflective "N" numbers fooled the exposure on my camera. I
had to do some post-processing of this picture to light up the painted surfaces and the
CUB sticker.
As you can see, there are other ultra light aircraft here.
We are inside the hangar directly across from the one where Irv demonstrated
the hangar door opening and closing. This is a picture of that same type of door
fully closed and locked. Look carefully and you will see how the rope gets stowed
when the door is closed.
