Wendell's Aeronca Champ Heading to Amarillo - - Page 6.

May 7, 2013:  Wendell's camera focused on the view outside or the reflection from the GPS screen.  Either way, the ground speed is 78 MPH at this point.

This outside photo taken at 3:15 PM Eastern Time shows Newport and Diaz, Arkansas with US 67 on the right side of the airplane.

Terry zoomed in on the town of Newport in this photo looking northwest.

This coal-fired power plant is about 8 miles northwest of Newport, Arkansas.   I processed this photo to get contrast.  It was hiding in the haze.

About 17 minutes later, Terry spotted this C-130 doing low-level flight practice in the hills to the west.  I cropped the shot to get more resolution.

This photo was taken at 3:41 PM Eastern Time as the Champ is approaching Heber Springs, Arkansas about 50 miles north of Little Rock.  The airport is clearly visible in this photo.

The lake in the background is the big draw for recreation in this part of the state.
