DHS 2010 Barbecue - Page 6.
Saturday, October 16: The horseshoe games
were on the south side of the barn by the fish pond.
Ron Barber waits for the horse shoes to be pitched from the other end of the
field.
Here he shows his best release form in this well-timed photo taken by Hilliard.
Hilliard snapped this photo just a little bit too late.
Our host and barn owner has these two restored 1956 Fords on display from their
usual storage places inside the barn. Did you remember the continental kit
(decorative spare tire) on the rear of these cars?
Hilliard got the best class photo. My camera was out there looking back
at the group, but this one photo from the five taken on Hilliard's camera is the best one
with everyone looking at the camera at the same time.
Compare the photo from my camera and you will see Ron Barber has changed
locations in this one. Max Caylor is almost hidden next to me just behind Gary Brock
and Ray Ingle.
After the group photos were taken, Bob Anderson had to maintain order as I took
this shot before dinner. While we were all together, our minister Max Caylor
provided a prayer for all who were here and those who could not be with us today.
Dual chow lines helped to get everyone ready for a sit down meal that happens
only once every five years. Jimmy Cook is at the left side of this photo with his
professional video camera to record the events of this day.
Finally, we get a chance to fill 'er up!
