Saturday, September 10, 2005 - Page 17 - Banquet
at the Dalton Country Club: All these photos show only the up-tempo action on the
dance floor. Betty and Vivian do the Twist as Douglas stands back to let the girls
try to "outdo" each other. Not bad for a lot of 58-year-old kids at a
party!
I took a second shot to show the joy on Vivian's face, which was blocked from
view above. Even Lane Graves got to the floor for a good time.
Betty is really in her element and full of energy. The gentle smile from
Douglas tells a story about the pleasure of knowing he has shared a moment his wife Betty
savors so much.
Around the room, the groups change partners and continue with conversations
that will soon be a memory of this year's events.
With the evening drawing to a close for some in our group, goodbyes are shared
and promises of "see you next time" are heard around the room. Betty
shares that kind of moment with Ronnie and thanks him for his job of keeping in touch with
all of us. Betty and Douglas have a plane trip back to California ahead of them.
Vivian and I kept our cameras busy as the crowd started to thin out and folks
began to head home from the banquet.
As always, there are a few who stay until the night is over. Theresa
Moore shows that spirit as Bennie keeps the music going. Beth, Fred, and Bennie have
the task of packing up the sound system and music CD's/DVD/s at the end of the event.
I hope you have enjoyed this look at this year's events. If you have any digital pictures or 35mm photos you would like to share with all our classmates, contact me at via email and let's make some arrangements to get your photos published on this web site.
